Barvikha sebenarnya adalah sebuah desa kecil di dekat Moskva, ibukota Russia. Namun selama era Soviet Barvikha mulai ditempati oleh pejabat pemerintah dan kaum intelektual tercatat diantaranya penulis terkenal Aleksey Tolstoy, tahun 1990-an desa ini malah ditempati oleh para jutawan Russia. Rumah-rumah kayu digantikan oleh rumah-rumah mewah yang dijaga ketat, tidak aneh karena lokasi desa ini juga strategis. Dikelilingi oleh hutan pinus dekat sungai Moskva, menjadikan lokasi idaman untuk orang-orang kaya Moskow, selain itu juga dekat dengan ring road Moskva. Dengan banyaknya orang kaya di Barvikha membuat desa ini berkembang pesat. Lihat saja foto-foto dibawah ini:
