Piha Beach adalah salah satu pantai yang terkenal di dunia surfing. Mungkin kata 'terkenal' cocok dengan setidaknya tiap tahun ada saja orang tenggelam di pantai tersebut dan telah melahirkan acara TV realita "PIHA RESCUE". Gelombang Laut Tasman memang tinggi dan kuat, bahkan jarang ada air pasang disana.



Keindahan lain tentang pantai ini adalah pasirnya berwarna hitam karena besi sedimen. Jadi tidak akan mungkin untuk berjalan bertelanjang kaki pada hari yang cerah panas karena nantinya pasir ini bisa akan membakar kaki Anda.



Pantai ini terletak 28 kilometer sebelah barat pusat kota Auckland, di pantai Laut Tasman ke arah utara Harbour Manukau, di tengah-tengah Waitakere Ranges. Tempat ini dapat diakses hanya dengan berjalan kaki.
