Dari 10 tim Indonesia yang mengikuti kompetisi Shell-Eco Marathon 2011 di Sepang, Malaysia, sampai pukul 18.00 WIB atau 19.00 atau Malaysia hanya tim Sadewa Kalabia dari Universitas Indonesia yang belum lolos scrutineering.

Penyebabnya, tim yang memodifikasi sistem pasokan bahan bakar sepeda motor dari karburator ke sistem injeksi mengalami kesulitan untuk memperoleh tekanan bahan bakarnya. Pasalnya, panitia melarang peserta menggunakan pompa listrik untuk memasok bahan bakar bertekanan ke injektor. Sementara 9 tim lain termasuk Cikal Nusantara dari ITB menyelesaikan lomba sudah lolos scrutineering.

Pada SEM ini untuk kategori Prototipe, peserta harus menempuh jarak 11,2 km atau empat lap di trek Utara Sepang. Batas waktu untuk menyelesaikan seluruh lap 23 menit dengan kecepatan rata-rata 30 km/jam.

Untuk Urban Concept, 4-lap dengan waktu paling lama 28 menit pada kecepatan rata-rata 25 km/jam. Total jarak yang harus ditempuh 11,5 km, 5�lap dikurangi jarak antara garis start dan garis finish. Agar sesuai dengan kondisi mobil penggunaan mobil di daerah urban, peserta Urban masuk pit stop atau berhenti setiap lapnya.
