Simaudio Ltd. brings you the Limited Edition series, representing a genuine leap forward in both sonic excellence and physical appearance. The MOON i-5 LE Dual-mono Integrated Amplifier produces 75 watts/channel into 8 ohms and 125 watts/channel into 4 ohms.



Originally introduced in 1997, the MOON i-5 has garnered more awards worldwide than any other Simaudio component. Furthermore, it has been the most popular selling model in our company's near 25 year history. During's it's illustrious life-cycle, the MOON i-5 has undergone various minor changes on occasion, either as a result of the availability of new and improved parts and/or subtle design changes, culminating in the Limited Edition version.



Unique to the LE version of the MOON i-5 are exotic circuit components in key areas that are critical to sonic performance. This enhanced circuitry achieves an even higher level of musical speed, and transparency. Also, the noise floor is lower than ever, increasing the dynamic range and channel separation, yielding a wider soundstage than before with an extraordinary level of realism. The power output has also been increased to 75W/ch.



Limited Edition series features include polished chrome accents, a �" thick brushed & anodized silver faceplate, a custom 2 meter Cardas power cord and a Limited Edition serial number plaque. Starting in January 2004, we will be producing 250 units of the MOON i-5 LE.







Significant Design Features:



� An oversized power supply

� A custom proprietary toroidal transformer design with lower magnetic, electrical and thermal loss,

yielding an improved power transfer and lower regulation factor, resulting in increased current

speed and better dynamics

� An extremely short capacitor-free signal path measuring only 15 inches in length from input RCA's

to output binding posts, eliminating virtually all potential sources of interference and producing a

sonically faster transient response

� Amplifier section using a "no overall feedback" design resulting in real-time amplification, more

accurate musical reproduction with respect to tonality, virtually non-existent IMD (intermodulation

distortion) and the elimination of common phase errors resulting from feedback

� Gain section using a Crystal microprocessor functioning as a "shunt to ground" that doesn't

degrade sonic performance regardless of the selected setting

� "Class A" output power to five watts for greater efficiency

� One single-ended audio input which bypasses the gain control stage to accomodate a component,

such as home-theatre processor, whose own volume control is used instead

� Precision matched Bipolar output devices which offer superb linearity throughout the entire

audio frequency spectrum

� Accurate matching of the very finest high quality electronic components

� A symmetrical circuit design

� Pure copper circuit board tracings with extremely low impedance characteristics

� Extremely rigid chassis construction to minimize the effects of external vibrations

� Improved reliabilty through the elimination of moving parts

� Designed to be powered up at all times for optimal performance
