Opus 9.9 is the utmost in Crescendo speaker lines. It is engineered to the finest detail without compromise in order to reproduce �pure music�. Opus 9.9 is rivalled to the world�s well known high-end brands but offering better value for money. The driver configuration is like Opus 9.6 made into 3 way speaker system.



Opus 9.9 consists of T3R (tweeter), MB-3 (midrange-driver), MB-6 (midbass-driver), and X9.9 (passive crossover), all in 1 pair.



TWEETER:

T3R tweeter is the best tweeter in Crescendo speaker lines so far. Its unique dome material, coating, and damper are designed to reproduce accurate and natural highs without flaws. The concave ring shape enhances the high extension for extra smooth and relaxing high. T3R is using aluminum housing with back chamber for resonance frequency as low as 850 Hz. Therefore, the frequency response is 850 Hz to 20 kHz in 3 dB scale. The back chamber is rounded to reduce the mounting depth and thus creating wider soundstage. T3R is complimented with 2 curvy bars grill for protection and 10 centimeter of Harmonic Harmony UP-OCC solid silver for fine tuning of sound. The only weakness, if considered as weakness, is quite long break-in time. It should be played at least 100 hours to achieve its maximum performance.



MIDRANGE:

The MB-3 is a unique 3 inches midrange-driver that is optimized for very small box (0.5 to 1 liter) to make it flexible to be installed in almost any car without hassle. The choice for 3 inches midrange-driver comes from the idea that 3 way speaker systems is becoming more and more popular but the current 4 inches midrange-driver in the market is somehow difficult to install in certain cars. MB-3 is using polypropylene cone that we consider as a perfect balance between sound, appearance, and durability. The chassis is our own designed die-cast basket with top and bottom cut to reduce the distance to the tweeter for less phase errors. The terminal is gold plated for best connection and it is equipped with 2 curvy bars grill for protection. MB-3 comes in perfect tonal balance because Crescendo engineers have overcome the tendency of 3 inches full-range midrange-driver to enhance the upper and lower part of the midrange and lacking the middle part.



MIDBASS:

MB-6 is the best midbass-driver in Crescendo speaker lines at the moment. It is better than MG-6 in reproducing midrange texture while providing better definition and deeper midbass. MB-6 shares the same �die cast� chassis as MS-6 and MG-6 so the outer diameter is also 7 inches to take advantage of deeper midbass and easier to blend with subwoofer. MB-6 is using polypropylene cone that we consider as a perfect balance between sound, appearance, and durability. The terminal is gold plated for best connection. Its nominal impedance is 8 ohm because our design team faced the fact that 8 ohm driver is somehow better than 4 ohm driver, at least for now. We challenged ourselves to create very high sensitivity driver to compensate for the amplifier�s power drop and the result is: �MB-6 has the same loudness as MG-6 with the same amplifier power�. The resonance frequency is 55 Hz and the frequency response is 55 Hz up to 8 kHz in 3dB scale.



PASSIVE CROSSOVER:

The X9.9 passive crossover separates MB-3 and T3R at 2.5 kHz. X9.9 is different from the rest of Crescendo 3 way passive crossover because the 3 positions switch only allows adjustment of tweeter level but the Q factor remains un-changed. The component is absolutely high quality to make sure there is no weak link in the chain. The capacitors for high pass and low pass are all Jantzen Cap from Denmark. The resistors are all Mills and Ohmite from USA. The coils/inductors are all air-core 18AWG size.
