Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest



Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest, located in the village of Kukuh, District Marga, Tabanan Regency, approximately 40 minutes from Kuta by vehicles following the road of Denpasar - Bedugul, until at Village Denkayu Mengwi turn left approximately 5 km.



Alas kedaton is a small monkey forest area of approximately 6-7 hectares, total area attractions include supporting facilities is about 12 Ha. In the southeast corner of the forest there is a small field plot of land, which according to folklore surrounding ape said to be grave. This field in 1979 was researched by the Center for Archaeological Denpasar in cooperation with Department of Archaeology Faculty of Letters Udayana University in Denpasar, but not found there ape carcasses.





Besides inhabited by tame monkeys, in Alas Kedaton also found bats ( Pteropus vampyrus ) as well as several other species. There are about 24 species of plants, among them quite often found is the modern day tree, mahogany, etc..





These attractions are very crowded both by domestic and foreign tourists because of its very strategic with other attractions such as Bedugul, Pura Taman Ayun and Pura Tanah Lot. Many tour operators that include attractions Alas Kedaton into a tour package that is often called the sun set tour because after visiting Alas Kedaton in the afternoon tour to Pura Tanah Lot continued to watch the sunset.
