2. bootmii - tujuan awal memang untuk safe WII jika terjadi kondisi yang tidak diinginkan. Pada awalnya di design untuk mempatch boot2, sehingga begitu wii on, langsung diambil alih boot2 tanpa masuk nand flash. Namun seiring waktu nintendo mempatch boot2 sehingga WII keluaran pertengahan tahun 2008 ke atas tidak bisa di install bootmii di area boot2. Untungnya bootmii bisa diinstall sebagi IOS tersendiri. Jadi bisa diinstall untuk semua WII. Sayangnya bootmii sbg IOS tidak bisa boot ketika wii on, melainkan harus via HBC. Di bootmii ada fasilitas Backup Nand ke SD Card, yang mana jika sewaktu2 WII kita bermasalah maka kita tinggal restore dari SD Card ke Nand memory WII.

Singkatnya WII full brick misal system menu hilang, dll, maka masih bisa diselamatkan.
