Seorang jendral Militer mengundang para wartawan guna memberi arahan apa yang boleh diberitakan dan apa yang tidak boleh diberitakan.

"Berita Suksesi tidak boleh ditulis, Presiden tidak suka. Pemogokan buruh, jangan ditulis, nanti terjadi konflik. Berita korupsi tidak boleh dipolitisir, wibawa pemerintah rusak. Monopoli tidak boleh menyebut keluarga Presiden, itu tidak etis. Politik tidak boleh memihak rakyat, nanti resah. Kenaikan harga tidak boleh dijadikan berita utama, rakyat nanti marah."

Seorang wartawan muda yang tidak sabar lalu menyela, "Kalau begitu, Jendral, apa yang boleh kami beritakan?"

Si Jendral menjawab dengan tenang, "Kalian beritakan apa yang barusan saya ucapkan!"
