The Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android 3.0 has built-in Bluetooth v1.2 and should work with tablets and smartphones with Bluetooth HID profile support. When you turn on the Logitech Tablet Keyboard it will put itself in pairing mode and you can use your tablet to search and pair with the keyboard. For subsequent pairing, press the Connect button on the bottom of the keyboard to put it into pairing mode. We tested the keyboard with a variety of smartphones including Android phones and the iPhone 4 as well as tablets, the keyboard paired and worked with each one smoothly. However, since the keyboard has an older Bluetooth version, it lacks some of the advanced features in Bluetooth v2.0 and newer such as multi-connect. It has some trouble reconnecting with previously paired partner after pairing with a new device.
Logitech makes great keyboards, and the tablet keyboard is no exception. The Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android 3.0 measures 11.3 x 5.12 x 0.62 inches and it�s wide enough to have a keyboard that rivals a nice notebook keyboard. The chiclet style keys have decent travel and good tactile feedback. The best part about this keyboard is that it has a very standard layout with the Spacebar in the middle. You should take no time at all getting used to this keyboard if you are used to typing on a desktop or a notebook keyboard.
Logitech makes two versions of this keyboard, one for the iPad/iOS devices and one for the Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablets. Even though these keyboards will work just about anything with Bluetooth HID, they offer something extra for the intended devices. The Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Android 3.0 has dedicated Android Honeycomb keys such as Search and Back, but not as many dedicated keys as the Motorola Bluetooth keyboard designed for the Motorola Xoom. The Motorola keyboard has an entire row of Android keys as opposed to a few on the Logitech keyboard. Both the iPad and Android tablet keyboards have media control keys including play/pause, fast-forward/rewind, speaker mute and volume keys. And just in case the keyboard needs moonlighting to work with a Windows machine, it comes with a Windows key.
