Blizzard Entertainment, Inc merupakan pengembang video game Amerika dan penerbit didirikan pada 8 Februari 1991 dengan nama Silicon & Synapse oleh tiga lulusan UCLA, Michael Morhaime, Allen Adham dan Frank Pearce. Berbasis di Irvine, California, perusahaan awalnya berkonsentrasi terutama pada penciptaan port permainan untuk studio lain sebelum memulai pengembangan perangkat lunak mereka sendiri pada tahun 1993 dengan perkembangan game seperti Rock N 'Roll Racing dan The Lost Vikings.

Pada tahun 1994 perusahaan ini menjadi Blizzard Entertainment Inc sebelum diambil alih oleh distributor Davidson & Associates dan kemudian oleh Vivendi. Tak lama kemudian, Blizzard mengirim game terobosan mereka yaitu Warcraft: Orc dan Manusia. Blizzard melanjutkan untuk membuat beberapa game PC yang sukses, termasuk Warcraft, Starcraft dan seri Diablo, dan MMORPG World of Warcraft.

Pada tanggal 9 Juli 2008, Activision resmi bergabung dengan Vivendi Games , meskipun Blizzard Entertainment tetap sebuah entitas yang terpisah dengan manajemen independen, Blizzard Entertainment membuat sebuah acara bernama BlizzCon di California, Amerika Serikat dan Blizzard Worldwide Invitational di negara lain untuk mendekatkan diri dengan gamer sekaligus mengumumkan game terbaru Blizzard.
