Puppet Nightmares' Introduction



While you are playing with your friends on a bright sunny day in the small town of Eilenburg, Germany, you are distracted as your thoughts dwell on the horrible catastrophe that recently affected your family.

You recall repeatedly that horrible night in your mind. Your older brother, who had been missing for two weeks, was suddenly brought home by a local authority. The man explained that he had found the boy alone, standing in a farmer's field.



The doctors believe he suffered some sort of trauma, but no one has found any evidence of what happened to him or where he was. He is also not the only child this has happened to in recent months. Your poor sibling now sits motionless within his room, in a persistent vegetative state with no hope from his physician for recovery.

Your thoughts then suddenly break away, as your neighbor, Ada, walks toward you and gives you a gentle nudge. The young girl then says, "I have something important to show you."



You calmly motion for her to go away, but she simply stands there, staring at you in the same lifeless way your brother now does. You then become curious and worried about her, asking if she is alright.

She smirks slightly and begins walking away slowly, motioning for you to follow. You know in your heart something isn't right, but something inside you tells you to go with her. That same lifeless stare couldn't be a coincidence, perhaps she may even know something about your brother. Thus you trail after little Ada, alone without your friends.



You and Ada journey on foot, traveling far along the Mulde river, yet you are no less compelled to continue than when you first started. The sky grows darker as it gets later, but Ada continues on as if time itself doesn't matter to her. You begin feeling uneasy as the sun slowly slips behind the mountains.

Far ahead of you, you begin to see a strange looking, and very large, triangular home. It is nested all alone in the forest. Ada begins laughing quietly to herself and exclaims mischievously, "You're going to love this."



This area is far from unknown to you. You have passed through here countless times during the mornings on errands for your family, but that house was never there before. A chill runs down your spine as you get slowly closer to the mysterious building. You wonder how it could have gotten here.



Complete darkness cloaks the horizon before you. Then suddenly, you realize you have already arrived at the building's door. Bewildered, wondering how you could have reached it this quickly, you ask Ada in a startled voice what had just happened. The young girl ignores your question and then knocks at the door a total of four times. Three in rapid succession, then once more quite abruptly.

At first there is a long silence behind the sturdy wooden door, but you then start to feel a malevolent presence coming strongly from within, unlike anything you've ever felt before. You nearly flee during the rising terror, but Ada stares back at you menacingly. Her piercing gaze freezes you in place and prevents you from leaving.
