Default Crested Caracara

Crested Caracara from Viera Wetlands. There are several adults that have been here for years (I can tell by the bands on the feet). They will be breeding soon as the Eagles are. We usually get 3 or 4 Juvi's out of the season!

This one is banded, one of the others is banded and has a radio transmitter on his back. They are being tracked to see were the go.

Caracaras are native to Central and South America and is the national bird for Mexico!
