Miangas adalah pulau terluar Indonesia yang terletak dekat perbatasan antara Indonesia dengan Filipina. Pulau ini termasuk ke dalam desa Miangas, kecamatan Nanusa, Kabupaten Kepulauan Talaud, provinsi Sulawesi Utara, Indonesia. Miangas adalah salah satu pulau yang tergabung dalam gugusan Kepulauan Nanusa yang berbatasan langsung dengan Filipina.

Pulau ini merupakan salah satu pulau terluar Indonesia sehingga rawan masalah perbatasan, terorisme serta penyelundupan. Pulau ini memiliki luas sekitar 3,15 km�. Jarak Pulau Miangas dengan Kecamatan Nanusa adalah sekitar 145 mil, sedangkan jarak ke Filipina hanya 48 mil. Pulau Miangas memiliki jumlah penduduk sebanyak 678 jiwa (2003) dengan mayoritas adalah Suku Talaud. Perkimpoian dengan warga Filipina tidak bisa dihindarkan lagi dikarenakan kedekatan jarak dengan Filipina. Bahkan beberapa laporan mengatakan mata uang yang digunakan di pulau ini adalah peso.

Belanda menguasai pulau ini sejak tahun 1677. Filipina sejak 1891 memasukkan Miangas ke dalam wilayahnya. Miangas dikenal dengan nama La Palmas dalam peta Filipina. Belanda kemudian bereaksi dengan mengajukan masalah Miangas ke Mahkamah Arbitrase Internasional. Mahkamah Arbitrase Internasional dengan hakim Max Huber pada tanggal 4 April 1928 kemudian memutuskan Miangas menjadi milik sah Belanda (Hindia Belanda). Filipina kemudian menerima keputusan tersebut.
