From Elvis fans with an undying interest for their idol�s clothing to the world�s most fetching bears and moustaches, these are the weirdest championships one will come across.

World Conker Championship � Set in the Northamptonshire village of Ashton, the annual competition takes places in the second Sunday of each October featuring modern gladiators competing against themselves with a nut and 12� of string. Everything started in 1965 and has grown to the size that it receives teams from all over the world. The winner has a place reserved on the Cronker Throne and receives a crown with conkers. The event also has a noble cause, raising money for the blind and visually impaired. There are 3 sections: men, women and children and the next event is set to take place on Sunday 12th October 2008.

The World Beard and Moustache Championships � Even though many would say facial hair is not in style anymore, participants at this competition would strongly disagree. This biennial event reunites eccentric moustache and bear wearers from all over the world. There is also a special committee that selects a different country each time to host the event. Anchorage, Alaska is the place that will host the event May 23rd, 2009, being committed to making this edition the most impressive yet. Prizes are given for the best natural moustache and goatee, best Chinese and English moustaches and beards.

Toilet Racing Competition � It gives a whole new meaning to the word racing to the toilet. The Evento Company from New Zealand has a new meaning to the words runs and loo-sers: running on the toilet, beating others to the finish line. Loo racing is a new sport, with more and more fans in New Zealand, but catching on in America too. Pants on at all times, no cheating and no toilet paper provided!

Graceland is organizing the biggest tribute to the legend that is Elvis. After years of resistance to these impersonators, managers finally decided to hold a competition and pick the best. Sincerity, respect a good wig and some nice moves can get you the top prize �5000$ in cash, a $5,000 shopping spree at the Graceland shops and the belt for the best Elvis impersonator.

Swamp football is currently popular in Finland, Sweden, Iceland, Holland, Russia and Brazil but this odd game is also starting to make waves in the UK. Originally from Finland, the game is played in bogs or swamps and it was initially for athletes and soldiers, because it is more physically demanding than other sports. Boots cannot be changed during the game while corner kicks or penalties are made with punts.
