Not the most natural of perches but I liked the detail in bird and also the almost completely OOF surroundings except for a small strip of textured wood. I understand it may not be to everyones taste due to the perch. To appreciate the detail it's best viewed large - not something I usually like to do online...but it really does do the image more justice <a href="http://www.naturephotographers.net/imagecritique/largephoto.cgi?ref=122618" target="_blank"><b>to view it large (1200 pixels)</b></a></p>

<p>D300 with 200-400 VR at 350mm (I think the 1.4x TC was attached still though), f5.6, ISO 360. Small crop of about %10 from left, right and top of frame.</p>
