Dragon
The 'Dragon' pattern, registered in 1899, was no doubt inspired directly by designs on Chinese porcelain exported in the 18th and 19th centuries to Britain. The dragon symbolises celestial and spiritual power in Chinese mythology, but it remains a complex and universal symbol.
