Selain mendatangkan devisa bagi negara, kunjungan wisatawan mancanegara akan meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat sekitar Pulau Komodo dan NTT.

Kalla yakin dengan 50 juta dukungan suara yang masuk, Pulau Komodo akan terpilih sebagai tujuh keajaiban dunia versi New7Wonders.

"Kemarin saya tampil di acara Tukul 'Bukan Empat Mata'meminta dukungan, sehari sesudah itu SMS masuk 1,3 juta. Sampai dengan jam 14.00 tadi SMS masuk lagi 1,1 juta. Dalam 27 hari pasti bisa mencapai 100 juta suara," ujarnnya, optimistis.

Saat ini, Indonesia bersaing dengan 28 negara lainnya. Media diminta ikut berpartisipasi dengan menyosialisasikan dukungan untuk Pulau Komodo. Kalla juga mengajak pemerintah untuk memberikan dukungan suara ke Pulau Komodo yang akan berakhir sebelum 11 November 2011.
