Marathon des Sables telah digambarkan sebagai race yang paling sulit di bumi. Perlombaan terdiri dari satu perjalanan panjang berjalan - 254 km - di salah satu wilayah terpanas di bumi - gurun Sahara. Tahun ini adalah lomba tahunan ke-26 .
Sebanyak 849 peeserta berangkat pada race enam hari yang melelahkan-, 254 kilometer lomba marathon yang membutuhkan ketahanan ekstra di Sahara ,Maroko .
