for Intake:
NM Engineering introduces the complete intake system for the turbocharged model MINI Cooper S. Unlike some competitors, NM�s intake features an integrated larger turbo inlet tube. The stainless brackets, hardwares and silicone couplings were all designed, engineered and manufactured to fit and perform.
The 'Open-Air-Box' system gives you the abundance and unrestricted 360� of air source compared to OEM's sealed air box with flat filter and tube fed air source. During R&D, we installed temperature probes around the engine compartment and the gauge showed the inside temperature matched the ambient after vehicle sped past 20 mph. And by logging the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor also showed that open-air-box intake generated higher volume (gr/sec) of air going through the sensor. So when we had to choose between (a) cooler air at all speed with limited air source, vs. (b) cooler air at 20~ mph. with unlimited air source, the choice was pretty obvious.
The blue and black tube kits feature CNC mandrel bent aluminum pipe and finished with durable textured powder coat. The other option is Carbon Fiber tubing which features 100% carbon fiber composite material to be lightweight and for great appearance. Utilizing vacuum bag manufacturing method produces a part that has consistent wall thickness, while avoiding excessive resin build-up.

NM-Eng Heat Shield
for Heat Shield:
NM Engineering has always used the finest materials in its manufacturing, including products constructed from T-304 stainless, 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 aluminum. With that in mind, NM has taken the next step with its new TitaNM product line which features parts utilizing titanium.
NM�s new TitaNM turbo heat shield is designed to redirect heat from the turbocharger down and around the engine. This reduces intake temps and protects the paint on the bonnet. Unlike other heat shields, NM�s does not completely encase the turbo as it would severely hamper the turbocharger�s heat dissipation and reliability. NM�s heat shield is commercially pure (CP grade) titanium.Notes:

NM-Eng Scoop Saver

Warped hood scoop is one of the known Mini issues which is caused by excessive heat exposure produced by the turbo. It is fine and dandy until your warranty runs out and you have to keep arguing with your service rep trying to get the scoop replaced. Either you are stuck with funky looking scoop or you are forced to purchase a new replacement that will end up the same way again.
NM Engineering's Scoop Saver reflects the radiant heat generated by the turbo resulting an impressive 30-40% temperature reduction at the scoop. It sits right on top of the turbo covering the under bonnet sheet metal as well as plugging some hood reinforcement structure holes where heat can creep in and bake the bottom part of the scoop.
Made from fire-retardant composite material with aluminum sheet reflective coating and can withstand 1100�F of radiant heat (requires minimum of 1� of airspace) and up to 450�F of direct heat. Affixed utilizing hi-temp adhesive backing. Material conforms to MIL-C-20079, Type I, Class 10 in addition to MIL-I-24244.
