The Beatles adalah kelompok pemusik Inggris beraliran rock, dibentuk di Liverpool pada tahun 1960, seringkali dianggap sebagai pemusik tersukses secara komersial dan paling banyak mendapat pujian dalam musik populer. Sejak tahun 1962, kelompok ini terdiri dari John Lennon (gitar ritem, vokal), Paul McCartney (gitar bass, vokal), George Harrison (gitar utama, vokal), Ringo Starr (drum, vokal). Bermula dari aliran skiffle dan rock and roll 1950-an, kelompok ini nantinya memainkan musik dalam berbagai genre mulai dari folk rock sampai rock psikedelik, memasukkan juga unsur musik klasik dan elemen lain dengan cara inovatif. The Beatles dipandang sebagai perwujudan ide-ide progresif, berpengaruh terhadap revolusi sosial budaya dekade 60-an.
Awalnya 5 orang terdiri dari Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Stuart Sutcliffe (bas) dan Pete Best (drum), The Beatles hanya terkenal di klub-klub Liverpool dan Hamburg selama 3 tahun mulai tahun 1960. Sutcliffe hengkang tahun 1961, dan Best diganti Starr tahun berikutnya. Beatles ditempa jadi profesional oleh seorang pengusaha toko musik bernama Brian Epstein setelah ia jadi manajer mereka dan potensi musik dipoles oleh produser George Martin. Akhir 1962, Beatles sudah mendapatkan kesuksesan di Britania Raya dengan singel pertama Love Me Do. Sepanjang tahun berikut, mereka melakukan tur internasional sampai 1966 dan berkonsentrasi merekam album di dalam negeri sampai bubar tahun 1970. Karir solo masing-masing dibilang sukses tapi Lennon terbunuh di New York City tahun 1980 dan Harisson meninggal karena kanker tahun 2001. McCartney dan Starr masih aktif bermusik.
Dalam tahun-tahun rekaman album studio, Beatles merilis karya-karya yang dinilai terbaik oleh kritikus, salah satunya Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (1967), dipuji sebagai karya agung. Empat dekade setelah bubar, musiknya masih populer. Mereka memiliki lebih dari satu album nomor 1 di tangga lagu Britania Raya dan bertengger paling lama dibanding pemusik manapun. Berdasarkan RIAA, mereka adalah pemusik yang menjual album terbanyak di Amerika Serikat. Tahun 2008, majalah Billboard merilis daftar musikus dengan penjualan terbesar sepanjang sejarah Hot 100 untuk merayakan 15 tahun hari jadi tangga lagu singel Amerika dimana The Beatles berada di nomor satu. Tujuh kali mendapat Grammy Awards, 15 Ivor Novello Awards dari British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors, The Beatles secara kolektif dimasukkan dalam kompilasi majalah TIME sebagai satu dari 100 orang paling berpengaruh di abad ke-20.
