Pada saat sekarang ini, ponsel telah menjadi bagian terpenting dari kehidupan sehari-hari. Dengan jumlah pengguna ponsel terus meningkat, vendor-vendor ponsel terkini tengah terus dan terus memeras otak mereka untuk medesain model ponsel guna menarik pelanggan. Dua contoh besar akan menjadi populer adalah Apple's iPhone dan Blackberry yang dikemas dengan fitur yang kaya dan berguna.

Ada banyak konsep telepon di luar sana yang diciptakan oleh para desainer dari seluruh dunia yang datang dengan desain ramping dan penuh fitur-fitur menarik. Bahkan meskipun ini masih meriupakan sebuah konsep yang tentunya mungkin sangat menarik perhatian pelanggan, namun perusahaan-perusahaan ponsel seperti Nokia dan Samsung, dalam waktu dekat belum bersedia untuk merealisasi konsep-konsep yang dibuat tersebut, oleh sebab terbentur dengan biaya produksi yang sangat besar.
